Rick Veldhuizen is a Dutch trampoline gymnast from Eemdijk, a small village in the Bunschoten municipality of Utrecht province in the Netherlands. He began trampolining at age eight and has risen through the national ranks to compete in the Eredivisie, the highest division of Dutch trampoline gymnastics, under his home club Triffis in Alkmaar. A versatile competitor in both individual and synchronised trampoline, Rick has represented the Netherlands at junior and senior international level. At the FIG World Age Group Competitions in Baku, he finished 28th individually and 7th in synchronised, before qualifying for and competing at the junior World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. In June 2025, he claimed the Dutch national title in synchronised trampoline alongside partner Jordy Mol at Ahoy Rotterdam, earning selection to the FIG World Championships in Portugal the following week. In March 2026, he competed at the Dutch Trampoline Open — an international biennial tournament organised by Triffis — returning from a broken metatarsal injury. Despite scoring below his own expectations in the individual event and finishing as first reserve for the semi-final, he contributed to his team alongside Jordy Mol, Thalissa Wijkstra and Wessel Brink to claim the bronze medal in the team final. Rick's long-term ambition is to qualify for the Olympic Games — targeting Los Angeles 2028 or Brisbane 2032 — for which he trains a minimum of fifteen hours per week. He has self-funded parts of his international competition calendar through community fundraising and crowdfunding, demonstrating the grassroots commitment and determination that defines his career....
