Waisea Nayacalevu Vuidravuwalu, born June 26, 1990, in Navua, Fiji, is one of the most celebrated rugby union players of his generation and a former captain of the Fiji national team, the Flying Fijians. Standing 1.93m and weighing 105kg, he plays as a centre or wing and combines explosive power, devastating pace, and natural leadership. He grew up alongside his brother Avenisi Vasuinubu, with whom he played for Melbourne Rugby in Australia before both were recruited by the Fiji Sevens programme in 2012. That same year, Waisea signed for French Top 14 club Stade Français, launching a decade-long career in French rugby during which he became a fan favourite for his powerful runs and defensive prowess. After ten seasons in Paris, he joined Toulon in 2022, then Sale Sharks in 2024, Ospreys in 2025, and is currently playing for Nissa Rugby in France. At international level, Waisea earned 43 caps for the Flying Fijians and represented Fiji in both Sevens and Fifteens. He was part of the 2012 IRB Sevens World Series squad and scored 25 tries in the circuit. He was named captain of the Flying Fijians and led the team at the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, where Fiji defeated Australia and reached the quarter-finals — one of the most celebrated performances in Fijian rugby history. In June 2025, he announced his retirement from international rugby after more than a decade of service, leaving behind a legacy as one of Fiji's greatest ever players and most inspirational leaders....
